Gin for Breakfast at Chewton Glen’s Food & Drink Festival Business event

People from businesses across the south will meet for a New Forest Breakfast on Tuesday November 1 as part of the New Forest Food & Drink Festival Week. The inclusion of gin is not a sign of the times, but an introduction to one of the region’s latest and most exciting businesses.

From an old Victorian laundry on the backstreets of Bournemouth, entrepreneur and Conker Spirit founder, Rupert Holloway, has become Dorset’s first independent gin distiller. Beginning the journey only three years ago, after losing the love for his career as a chartered surveyor, Rupert had the lightbulb moment of producing a beautifully-crafted spirit to represent his local landscape.

He will be speaking at the Business Breakfast, sponsored by The New Forest Business Partnership, taking us on the road which brought him to Conker – and the exciting path he has trodden as he has developed the product and the business.

His success is about spirit, in every sense of the word – so there will be a chance to taste his gin too (it’s ok at 8am when it’s for business, we promise!).

At this event, there will also be a talk from Chewton Glen on the new James Martin Cookery School – opening this December. Tickets for the Gin for Breakfast event are just £15 per person and the event takes place on Tuesday 1 November, from 7:30am to 9:30am.

The New Forest Food and Drink Festival Week takes place at various venues around the New Forest from October 31 to November 6. For details on all events and how to book see www.thenewforest.co.uk/newforestfoodfest or search ‘New Forest Food & Drink Festival’ on social media.
